MTV Europe Music Awards 2012 nominations

The 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards nominations have been announced, with Rihanna and Justin Bieber leading the pack for the Best Female and Best Male gongs.

Fashion-forward pop diva Rihanna has scooped nominations in six categories for the public-voted awards, including Best Look, Best Pop Act and Best Video, while Bieber got four mentions from Biggest Fans to Best World Stage.

Taylor Swift will also be hoping to win big at the 11th November ceremony, with five nominations (three of which mean she'll go head-to-head with RiRi), along with Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and NickiMinaj who are also in the running for a number of prizes each.

Voting opens online at the MTV EMAs websitetoday, and will also cover categories like Best Live and Best Alternative acts.
