With his debut album good kid m.A.A.d city just a day away from release, Kendrick Lamar drops the third installment in his “Heart” series. The Compton rapper speaks to his fans and reflects on his journey to becoming one of hip-hop’s most celebrated new MCs.
“I came, I saw, I conquered,” spits a passionate Kendrick on the Tae Beast-produced record, which features his TDE affiliates Ab-Soul and Jay Rock. “Will you let hip-hop die on October 22?” he asks.
He thanked his supporters for holding him down. “This year. A roller coaster. Some rides had a few leaks. But you still was there 4 the final trill,” he tweeted. “Dont do it unless its from THE HEART…….And ill do the same.”
